Belinda: Coach, what does a player like David Gater who played and excelled at DB in the CIFL this year have to do to make it to the AFL? Do they need to first break in with the af2 or do you scout lower leagues as well?

Coach Thonn: Belinda, every situation is always a little different for players trying to make it in the AFL. We definitely scout the other indoor leagues, because quite a few have the ability to play. We will have workouts throughout the fall where we will look at as many players as we can. David would be one of those that we will like to see in person. We have to cover NFL camps, which we are doing now, and also af2 which is deep in the playoffs. Our coaching staff is also starting to rate all the free agents that will be available in the AFL. As you can see, there is a great deal of scouting that will go on for the next few months, but we don't want to miss out on anybody.
